News & Updates is where we will post updates, reminders and learn all there is to know about Binder Park Hills Neighborhood. We hope you enjoy our site and take a moment to drop us a line with suggestions or concerns you have as residents.
The NTRC with approval from the Newton Township Board has finalized plans for a 3 mill, 15- year bond to be placed on the on the February 27th ballot. The bond will generate $8,045,600 to be put into local road improvements beginning in the Spring of 2025.
See the Proposed Road Millage Information and FAQ's from Newtown Township below.
Reminder, the storm drain system in our neighborhood is contained in our neighborhood, and we are responsible for maintaining that system. We cannot stress enough that grass should not be left in the street or on top of sewer drains. In time, this causes the drains to be plugged up or vegetation in the drainage pond that becomes excessive—requiring the drain commissioner to take action to correct the problem, which will result in thousands of dollars in charges on homeowner's winter taxes to fix the problem.
Safety on our streets is a significant concern to all residents. Especially for residents that enjoy walking, their children ride their bikes, so we ask that everyone PLEASE restrain their vehicular speed to no more than 25 miles per hour. No one would want to be responsible for injuring any of our neighbors!
In one of our past meetings, we approved using an area in the North West section of Hawks Park to be used for personal gardens with certain restrictions. If you are interested in having a section to garden, please get in touch with any officers for information about what guildlines have been established.
Spring also brings expectations of new construction of our buildings, fences, pools, and other additions to our homes. Please remember that you must contact the Architectural Control Committee (ACC) before starting any outdoor projects to be sure they comply with the association's by-laws.
Newton Township's ordinance restricts them from giving out building permits for projects without a release from Binder Park Hills Architectural Control Committee (ACC).
The annual neighborhood garage sale is the 3rd Saturday in May. Please contact one of the HOA officers if you have any large or special items that you wish to include in the advertisement.
As summer arrives, some residents will be getting out the recreational items, but we want to be sure residents understand that they cannot be parked on the street for any extended amount of time. Per Restrictions & Bylaws ARTICLE II section 2, Recreational vehicles and equipment, including travel trailers, pickup covers, motorized homes, motorcycles, campers, boats and boat trailers, snowmobiles, horse trailers, rafts, dune buggies, or any automotive units intended for recreational purposes may be parked or stored only within an enclosed garage. We understand that a day or two to prepare a unit for use is expected, but recreational items should not be kept at a residence longer than that.
A closed group was set up for residents of Binder Park Hills to socialize regarding updates, meetings, and general information within our neighborhood and community.
